Why I feel breast cancer awareness is important October 18 2013
Breast cancer has touched my life personally when my two Godmothers both got breast cancer. One Godmother had it when I was little girl before we had all these medical advances in early detection. Unfortunately, it spread to her other organs and she didn't survive.
My second Godmother has been a breast cancer survivor for several years now. After doctors detected her breast cancer, they had to remove the breast and reconstruct the breast and nipple. I'm so happy she survived because she is such a bright and cheerful woman. She was even my witness in my wedding and I remain close with her today.
When Kimberly Luu from According to Kimberly told me about her "Fashion With A Cause" bracelet with 20% proceeds going to Susan G. Komen Foundation. I was immediately intrigued and had to say yes to a collaboration to sell her bracelet exclusively at our Serene Sky Boutique. I hope you support our collaboration and breast cancer awareness by purchasing this bracelet.
I truly believe breast cancer awareness is important. It's best not to skip your annual exams with your doctor and do the recommended mammograms. This disease touches young and old people. I hope one day there will be a cure for all cancers.
